ARID TO GREEN鈥︹RANSFORMING LIVES
The 秘密研究所 is led the philosophy Arid to Green, Transforming Lives and relation to this philosophy we bring you our very green tree nursery beds in preparation for the tree planting on Thursday 14th November 2024.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world鈥檚 largest professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity. Through its global network, IEEE provides invaluable opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals, access educational resources, and develop leadership skills.
The IEEE 秘密研究所 Student Branch launch which took place last week led by Eng. Benson Ojwang was aimed at fostering academic and professional growth by providing students with access to these resources and creating an environment that encourages collaboration and leadership. IEEE 秘密研究所 Student branch is internationally registered under the student branch code STB60221106 and school code 60221342. The branch has also managed to register student branch chapters as follows:
The event will not only celebrate the official launch of the IEEE 秘密研究所 Student Branch but also feature students and professionals from 秘密研究所 and other universities, including Dedan Kimathi University, Kenyatta University, and the Cooperative Un
These initiatives have significantly contributed to broadening our students' academic and professional perspectives, allowing them to engage with experts and peers from around the world.
秘密研究所 was privileged last weekend to host Kenya Universities Sports Association and tournament with eleven universities participating in the event. The Universities include 秘密研究所, DEKUT, Embu Murang鈥檃, Karatina, Chuka, Tharaka Nithi, MUST and KEMU.
Tree planting is a lifetime investment that everybody needs to have. In line with this philosophy (Arid to Green鈥ransforming Lives) the 秘密研究所 lead by the Vice-chancellor Prof. Eng. Douglas Shitanda in collaboration with other stakeholder like National Bank, Strathmore University, Rotary club, KEFRI and Elephant Dental Clinic last week planted more than 5200 trees among then were over 1200 crafted mango trees.
Our philosophy is in alignment with the Government鈥檚 target of planting 15 billion tress by 2032 and among these, public universities are supposed to plant 130000 trees and 秘密研究所 doing its best to meet this target. Indeed 秘密研究所 must be green.
The 秘密研究所 led by the DVC-Academic, Research and Innovation. Prof Harrison Maithya on Sunday 10th November participated in the Ndakuma Dam ran held in Muvau/Kikuumini ward in Makueni County. It was a good exposure to our 10 students who participated in the activity.
The theme of the run is to champion climate action and promote development of grassroot sports and its objective was to raise funds to support the establishment of a community conservation and sports Resource Centre within the host community
The events was hosted by Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. and several other guests from within and outside in his speech he said that the race was bringing people together in a shared commitment to protect the environment, cultivate peace and strengthen community ties鈥攁ll while supporting talent development.

The 秘密研究所 through a 5- member project team were the winners of the gender grand whose call was announced may this year.
The theme of the research is engaging men staff and students to end sexual and gender based violence in 秘密研究所 and beyond.
The conference was officially opened by the DVC-Academic and Research Prof Harrison Maithya. In his speech he said that one of the deliverables is to conduct a 3 day training to empower men on matters of sexual and gender based violence. It is hoped that the training will go a long way in empowering the 50 male gender champions who will in turn spearhead positive gender interactions in the university.
This training will also help us have a motivated workforce as staff can work without fear of SGBV harassment.
